Trump's Official Republican Platform Promises to Stop "Repressive Measures" in Cryptocurrency
The new policy platform of the Republican National Committee includes an initiative to support cryptocurrency.
The party of former President Donald Trump is also against the introduction of a central bank digital currency.
According to a document published on Monday by the National Committee of the Republican Party, the Republican Party of former President Donald Trump has officially adopted a platform that will be aimed at supporting innovations in the field of cryptocurrency.
The platform is designed to outline the party's priorities as the presumed presidential candidate Trump and Republican congressional candidates approach the November elections, and it reflects the growing interest of Trump and other Republican politicians in digital assets.
"Republicans will put an end to the illegal and un-American repressions of Democrats in the field of cryptocurrency and will oppose the creation of a central bank digital currency," the document states. "We will defend the right to mine Bitcoin and ensure that every American has the right to independently store their bitcoins."
Digital assets and conduct transactions without government oversight and control.
In recent months, Trump has turned his former suspicions about cryptocurrency into resolute support. He also has some personal experience with digital assets: he has launched several sets of his own branded non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Trump's campaign and the associated political action committee also accept donations in cryptocurrency.
